Hedera temporarily disables network services after exploit

by shayaan

Hedera has announced that the network proceeds on his main network have switched off because of an exploit. Critical network services such as wallets, decentralized exchanges and others will be available again as soon as the problem has been resolved.

In the late hours of March 9, Hedera announced that the network proceeds had eliminated on his mainnet due to a smart contract anomaly. At the time, the project made it clear that the Hedera core team collaborated with the Defi-eco system to find out the cause of the problem.

In the early hours of 10 March, however, the Hedera team confirmed that Hackers had successfully exploited the smart contract service code of Hedera and had transferred an unknown number of Hbar tokens to their own wallet.

Thanks to the rapid closure of the Hedera network services, the attacker could no longer steal tokens. The team says that it has identified the abused Maas in the law and is now working on a solution.

As soon as the solution is ready, the members of the Hedera Council will be called to sign transactions to approve the updated code that will erase the vulnerability. Later, all Mainnet proxy services will be switched on again.
